(MoneyNewsWire.Net, December 13, 2014 ) London, UK -- Dear Santa:
I’m sure you must be sick of receiving begging letters and I wouldn’t be writing this if I wasn’t desperate. I guess I’m a bit older than many of your fans, and I haven’t written a letter for Santa in a long time, but I’m not really writing for myself – it’s my company. Before you say “no” the company employs 30 people (- and many have children). If the company goes bust they will lose their jobs – not a very nice Christmas present.
It’s not toys, games or books I’m looking for, it’s just a bit of financial help. Here’s my list:
HMRC: £85,000 – it wasn’t that I intended not to pay my tax but by the time I had paid the wages, utility bills, essential suppliers, all necessary to keep the business trading, there was nothing left to cover the VAT and PAYE
Other suppliers: £47,000 – these have just mounted up while we have been trading through a difficult period. The trouble is one is threatening to send in the bailiffs and another said he would issue a Winding-up petition – whatever that is.
Rent: £34,000 – paid on Quarter Days, so is due on Christmas Day
I really don’t know which way to turn Santa – hence the letter.
People I know have mentioned that the company may benefit from a Company Voluntary Arrangement, but I don’t really know how that works. Others have mentioned a Pre Pack Administration, but I am not sure what that entails either. I keep receiving letters from the bank too – I’m worried that if the company can’t pay the loan they may call on me personally under a guarantee I signed – I may even face bankruptcy!
Santa, I have just received a letter from insolvency specialists, Wilson Field, offering professional advice and a free, no-obligation meeting with one of their consultants. Their web site looks very professional. I’ll tell you what Santa, for the time being please ignore this letter, as I am sure you have other pressures at this time of the year – I’m going to ring Wilson Field.
I know it is a busy time for you but when you have finished Santa, put your feet up, have a drink and enjoy the rest of Christmas.
Best wishes
